Bible - The Word of Promise® App Reviews

????

I dislike the fact that only a few books are free and cannot open another unless you purchase it.

Thieves!!!!!!

Once again iTunes steals money from my pocket! You pay for an album and then they change the release date from one year to another and suddenly I have to repurchase the entire album again. Then you no longer sell a certain album so I no longer have access to it even though I paid for it. Now you erase my Bible app that I paid close to $50 for, and you offer me this?!!!! How on earth can you get away with this?!

Good but you removed the existing books dont know why ??

Good but you removed the existing books dont know why ?? Earlier I use to access all 66 books under free edition now Iam able to access only Johns Gospel. Can you please restore the same under free edition, Thanks

Cant download audio I paid for

Updated: finally got the audio to download. Customer service was prompt in business days. Needed to delete the app and reinstall. 3 stars because with the audio and the study bible these products are expensive and I miss the point of updates if I have to delete and reinstall every time theres an update. The audio is superb in high quality but its 4gb and every time I have to delete and uninstall due to an incompatible update that requires time and data that I shouldnt have to mess around with after 50 bucks worth of audio and study bible. Original: Errors out 66 times one for each book. Thorough but annoying. In the meantime I dont have what I paid for and am waiting.

Awesome app!!

Love love love this app! Works well! And the audio feature is perfect for driving!!

Complete Version 2 (4.0) is a Five Star, but not the 4.1

This Audible version of the Bible is really an amazing way to listen to scripture - it brings the incredible Word of God to life! Waves lashing at the beach as John is writing the Revelation of Christ, the creaky wheel of carts rolling through the streets....but the latest 4.1 is buggy and I uninstalled it about five minutes after downloading and apparently the only really new thing is KJV in text which I have an incredible different version of anyway. My present Word of Promise has Damascus 18 for font - the new version bumps it up to 22 and the last line of text on the page cant be seen on iPad Air. In fact all of the fonts are larger which is unacceptable to me. Also in general I think the description is misleading as only the concordance and index come free with the $49 "Complete" and in the five minutes I had this new one installed I was hit with a pop-up about the Study Bible which I have free with my KJV Bible from somewhere else. But the V2 4.0 cant be beat for actually being making a part of Biblical history as I listen.

Please add word to word highlighter

Please add word to word highlighter. Currently we have complete verse highlighter, but most of times we dont need complete verse to be highlighted. Thanks

Misleading

I want a good audio Bible, so I downloaded this. I was asked to create a login which I did, but was told wasnt valid when I tried to use it. When that was finally straightened out, I tried to access a passage. At this point a screen appeared that announced a purchase of content was required to go any further. The REAL PRICE for this app is $39.99. While not shocked at being charged money for something of this quality, I was disappointed at the misleading way they get you to that point. Pretty underhanded, if you ask me! So be aware. This is NOT a free app, and there are glitches in the system. I havent even gotten to the Bible itself yet - too many hoops to jump through still.

Awesome app with a fair price

Thomas Nelson did an awesome job at bringing the Bible to life by putting together these dramatic readings of every verse by classic actors such as Morgan Freeman, Jim Caviezel, Michael W Smith, etc. I remember when these recordings were released on CDs 10 years ago for $100 which was very high. So, an in app purchase of $39.99 is fair. Also, I like the fact that its available through Apple TV. Also, a lot of features that are available in other popular Bible Apps such as olive tree reader are available too.

Terrible license management

I paid $40 to buy this app in iPhone though I have it in CD also. However I am not able to use it since it always claims that "I am logged in some other devices". Terrible!!
